Do they make good induction pans?
Read on to find out …
When I was researching circulon infinite products for myself I could not find any quality information about the product so decided to create my own site. Within these reviews I will do my best to highlight the bad points as well as the good and help you make an informed purchasing decision.
This post covers the most common questions about circulon pans including does the handle on the saucepan get hot, how well does it clean in a dish washer, what’s it like on an induction cooker and of course how well does it perform overall.
For this test I am using a Circulon Infinite 20cm French skillet. This should give you a good indication of the quality of circulon infinite pans and help you decide if it’s the cookware for you. Other circulon infinite reviews are listed on the right hand side of the screen and also at the bottom of this post.
Circulon Infinite cookware test
I want to start by saying that I am not a good cook. I’m not even an OK cook. I bought my circulon pans to make it easier for me to cook and as motivator to improve my cooking skills. I started with the Circulon infinite 20cm French skillet because it was the cheapest item and I didn’t want to buy the 5 piece set and end up not using it.
The first thing you notice about this infinite circulon skillet when you take it out of their box is how stylish it looks. Pick it up and it feels strong and sturdy. Minor complaints about circulon infinite cookware is that it’s heavy but this isn’t a problem with this 20cm skillet. Plus all anodised cookware is heavier because of the way its made. When you study the saucepan more closely you can see the famous circulon circles. Unlike cheaper non-stick saucepans the non-stick element is fused into the infinite circulon saucepans so you don’t need to worry about flakes.
Could you fry an egg? Circulon Infinite style
I think eggs can be tough to fry. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve done it and split the egg yoke trying to scrape the egg from the saucepan onto the plate. So my first test was an egg cooked on a low temperature with no oil. This is where I had my first disaster! I put the egg in before the circulon infinite saucepan had properly heated up. Fortunately, the egg heated up and I was able to flip the egg over without splitting the yoke or having to do any scraping. The result was one beautifully cooked egg, intact and not covered in oil.
The next test of my cooking prowess was easy, bacon. It won’t surprise anyone when I say that it cooked well, because even I don’t mess up when cooking bacon. However this is where disaster number two came. I didn’t bother to clean the saucepan. I left it until night time, by which time the fat on the saucepan was well and truly stuck. I could have washed it by hand but I’m lazy so I just chucked it into the dishwasher with everything else and left it to run while I went to bed.
I opened the dishwasher the next morning to discover a beautifully clean saucepan. The next time I used the circulon infinite skillet I washed it by hand with a cloth and cheap washing up liquid. Again it cleaned beautifully.
Is the circulon infinite skillet too hot to handle?
So one of the main things that puts people off buying circulon pans is the question “do the handles get hot on circulon infinite cookware?” Well the short answer is yes BUT ….
- Yes the handle does get hot near the base of the saucepan which I’ve shown in the picture below BUT ….
- On this 20cm saucepan, the smallest in the range I have yet to burn myself and I have big hands! The only reason I found out it got hot is because I had the temperature on high and prodded it with my finger.
- If this is the only thing holding you back from buying then the circulon elite range has silicon handles or you can buy silicon handles to put over the top but like I said before, the hot handle has not been an issue for me personally.

As you can see the base of the handle can get hot at a high temp but this has not been a problem for me.
What’s Infinite Circulon like on Induction Cookers?
I don’t have an induction cooker so couldn’t answer this one personally. However C Rishton gave a 5 out of 5 star review saying:
These induction pans are excellent. I had a new induction hob and wanted some pans that were as good as my anolon commercial ones. I thought that only stainless steel worked on induction and was delighted to discover these. Read more…
Pros
- No oil needed for healthier eating
- You can use low heat
- I love the circles and the look and feel of these suacepan sets.
- Dishwasher friendly, as you can see from the image below.

The before and after effects of cleaning the saucepan in a dishwasher.
Cons
- The handle gets hot near the base of the skillet, although I have yet to burn myself with it.
- You need to be slightly more careful when looking after it. No scouring!
- 20cm is not very big so you can only do so much with a saucepan this size.
- If I keep this up I might have to shock, horror, do more cooking!
My Rating:
The Circulon Infinite 20cm skillet is a great skillet and makes me believe that Circulon make great saucepan sets. It’s a pleasure to use and makes cooking eggs a doddle. Like I said in the cons section, this is not a very big saucepan so what you can do with it is limited. I guess I need to start buying some more it’s time to invest in some more circulon infinite cookware!
